Shops
Weekdays from 9 am to 13 pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm, but some shops stay open at lunch-time. On saturdays, from January to November, shops generally close at 1 pm, though some shops in the city center may stay open in the afternoon. In December, shops are open monday to saturday from 9 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm. In shopping centers, opening hours are longer, usually from 10 am till midnight.
Banks
Open monday to friday from 8:30 am to 3 pm
Pharmacies
Weekdays from 9 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm
Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm
When closed, all pharmacies indicate the nearest Emergency Pharmacy, where service is available 24 hours a day.
Post Office
Post Offices are open between 8 am and 9 pm on weekdays. On saturdays, sundays and public holidays they open at 9 am and close at 6 pm. The central and airport post offices are open on saturdays. The Post Office on the Avenida dos Aliados is open from monday to saturday.
Health
The Emergency Health Services at Hospitals must only be used in serious situations (serious injuries, intoxications, burns, heart attacks, strokes, respiratory problems, etc.). In order to access the health services, EU citizens not resident in Portugal must have their passport or ID card, form E112 and the European Health Insurance Card.
